We are committed to making this website usable by as many people as possible, including people with disabilities. This site targets the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA — the standard referenced by the U.S. Department of Justice and used as the practical benchmark in ADA Title III litigation.

What's Been Verified

Beyond general best practices, the following were specifically tested rather than assumed:

• Color contrast: every text/background color combination in the site's design system was calculated against the WCAG relative-luminance formula and confirmed to meet the 4.5:1 minimum for normal text (two combinations that initially failed were corrected).
• Keyboard operability: the mobile menu, gallery image viewer, and all navigation were tested end-to-end using a keyboard only (Tab, Shift+Tab, Enter, Escape, arrow keys) with an automated browser test suite, not just visual inspection.
• Focus management: the gallery image viewer traps and returns keyboard focus correctly when opened and closed, and the mobile menu is removed from the tab order (via the inert attribute) when visually hidden, so keyboard and screen-reader users can't land on off-screen content.
• Heading structure: every page was checked programmatically to confirm a single, descriptive <h1> and no skipped heading levels.
• Images and icons: every informative image has descriptive alt text; every decorative icon is hidden from assistive technology (aria-hidden) so it isn't announced redundantly next to its visible label.
• Motion: the animated statistics counter and all transitions respect the operating system's "reduce motion" setting.

Built In By Default

• Semantic landmark structure (header, navigation, main content, footer) for screen readers
• A "skip to content" link for keyboard users
• Visible keyboard focus states on all interactive elements
• Native, keyboard-accessible HTML controls (real <button> elements, native <details> for the FAQ accordion) rather than custom widgets that need extra ARIA scaffolding
• Responsive layout that supports browser zoom and text resizing without loss of content

Honest Limits of This Statement

This site has not been tested with real assistive technology (e.g. actual screen reader software like JAWS, NVDA, or VoiceOver used by a person who relies on it daily), and this statement is not a legal certification — no such official certification exists for WCAG or the ADA. Automated and scripted testing, however thorough, catches a large share of common issues but can't fully replace a manual audit or user testing. If a formal accessibility audit is planned, this is a solid, verified starting point rather than an untested one.
